Muay Thai Techniques

Master the eight weapons of Muay Thai.

Strikes in Muay Thai

Every move in Muay Thai Fighter is based on a real Muay Thai technique. Here's a breakdown of each one and how it works in the game.

🦵 Low Kick (Te Tad)

A powerful roundhouse kick targeting the opponent's thigh. In real Muay Thai, repeated low kicks can cripple an opponent's mobility. In-game: reliable damage based on Strength.

🦶 Teep (Push Kick)

A front push kick used to maintain distance and disrupt the opponent's rhythm. One of Muay Thai's most versatile weapons. In-game: low cost, good for managing stamina.

🤼 Clinch & Knees (Chap Kho + Ti Khao)

Grabbing the opponent in a standing clinch and delivering devastating knee strikes. The clinch is unique to Muay Thai among striking arts. In-game: high cost but effective damage.

🥊 Cross (Mat Trong)

A straight power punch thrown with the rear hand. Maximum force transferred through rotation of the hips and shoulders. In-game: high damage but can miss (30% miss chance).

💥 Elbow (Sok)

A short-range strike using the point of the elbow. Elbows are responsible for the most cuts in Muay Thai and can end fights instantly. In-game: highest KO potential.

🛡️ Block & Counter

A defensive technique where the fighter blocks an incoming attack and immediately counters. Timing and reading the opponent are key. In-game: low cost, and if successful, delivers counter damage.

Special Techniques (Unlockable)

As your fighter gains experience, you unlock advanced techniques that deal significantly more damage:

🦿 Flying Knee (Khao Loi)

A spectacular jumping knee strike where the fighter leaps into the air. In real Muay Thai, the flying knee is a fight-ending technique used by legends like Buakaw. Unlock at Level 3.

🌀 Spinning Elbow (Sok Klap)

The fighter spins 360 degrees and delivers an elbow strike with full rotational force. Extremely dangerous and difficult to defend. Used by fighters like Saenchai. Unlock at Level 5.

💫 Superman Punch

A leaping cross punch where the fighter pushes off the back leg and throws the rear hand mid-air. Popularized in MMA but rooted in Muay Thai footwork. Unlock at Level 7.

⚡ Axe Kick (Te Khao)

A high arcing kick brought down vertically on the opponent. Difficult to block because it comes from above. Unlock at Level 9.

Real vs Game

While Muay Thai Fighter simplifies the complexity of real Muay Thai into a turn-based game, every technique in the game reflects the spirit and strategy of the real art. The balance between aggressive attacks (high damage, high cost) and defensive play (low cost, counter potential) mirrors the strategic depth of actual Muay Thai competition.
